Sago is a handmade guitar brand based in Hyogo Prefecture, specializing in fully custom-made guitars that fulfill all customer requests.
It's a brand highly trusted by musicians, with UNISON SQUARE GARDEN's Tabuchi, Mary's Blood's Rio, and Sakanaction's Kusakari all listed as Sago artists.
This model is the Ove, an original model supported by many artists.
The body is constructed with a quilted maple top and alder back.
The oriental and beautiful grain of the quilted maple is eye-catching.
The neck is made of dark thermo hard maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.
Thermowood, originally used for Finnish saunas, is particularly resistant to high temperatures and humidity.
Perhaps due to this, the sound has a smooth attack and a pleasant responsiveness.
The pickups are Nordstrand Big Split 5 String Bass Pickup Set.
The preamp is original.
The sound is uniquely characterized by Sago's distinctive strong bass.
Yet, the midrange is powerful, and it possesses rich harmonics in the high frequencies that are equally impressive.
