Yamaha is a renowned brand that has supported the Japanese guitar industry since its early days.
While the company boasts many iconic models such as the SBV, SG, and BB, the TRB series is equally beloved.
This is the TRB1005J, a 5-string model.
The body features a quilted maple top and an alder back.
The neck is a 5-piece laminated type constructed from maple and nato.
Lamination reduces individual variations and eliminates extreme wood characteristics, making it less prone to drastic warping.
In this sense, this design is extremely useful in a price range where it's not possible to select only the highest quality woods.
The fretboard is rosewood.
The pickups are Yamaha's original hum-canceling single-coils, and the preamp is also a Yamaha original.
The nut has been replaced with a brass one.
The low-b tuning key has been replaced with a GOTOH extender key. One screw on the back panel has been replaced.
The modern body design boasts a refined balance, resulting in excellent playability and superior string vibration.
The powerful electronics produce a low-noise, impactful bass sound.
The frets have approximately 85% remaining.
