Xotic is a brand founded in LA by Japanese builder Hiro Miura.
In Japan, it's used by many famous musicians, including Yoshiki Takahashi, BJ from indigo jam unit, and Katsushi Morioka. Internationally, it's favored by Chuck Rainey, Rhonda Smith, and Travis Carlton, among others.
The XJ series, manufactured in Japan, has been highly regarded, especially among studio workers.
While fundamentally built in the Fender style, it incorporates several modern updates.
This particular instrument was manufactured in 2015.
The body is made of alder, and the fingerboard is rosewood, a classic configuration.
It has 24 frets.
The pickups are Xotic.
The preamp is a Tr-ilogic 2.
The tuning machines are HIPSHOT Ultralite, and the bridge is a HIPSHOT STYLE A.
The sound is refined, with sufficient low frequencies and pleasant harmonics.
Playability is also very high, making it an overall high-level instrument.
