This particular instrument is a modified fretless version of the BB2000, a highly popular and iconic model from Yamaha.
The body is made of alder, the neck is a 5-piece laminate construction of mahogany and maple, and the fingerboard is striped ebony.
The pickups are original.
Regarding the fretless modification, while the fingerboard lacks fret lines, it's possible that fret lines were added to the sides of the original fretless fingerboard, or that the fingerboard was coated, or even replaced entirely.
While a definitive conclusion is difficult, the extremely beautiful finish suggests meticulous work by a professional.
It features a unique sound that combines robustness and sharpness.

The remaining fret life is approximately 100% (fretless).
