Description & Condition
Description & Condition
Sadowsky is a high-end New York brand with top-tier musicians such as Marcus Miller and Will Lee as clients. (Titles omitted)
This is a rare Sadowsky NYC brand guitar, which seems to have become significantly less common recently.
This is a piece from the early 1990s.
The serial number on the headstock indicates around 1992-1993, while the serial number on the neck pocket indicates around 1989.
The fact that the neck joint hole has been filled and redrilled suggests the possibility of it being a combination of two guitars.
The basic specifications are Standard 4 with a PJ pickup configuration.
Sadowsky's PJ style is somewhat niche, but it is highly regarded.
Considering the specifications, it appears to be a custom-ordered item, so the possibility of it being a combination of two guitars is not a significant drawback.
The body is ash, and the fretboard is likely Pau Ferro.
The neck is joined with a plate, not a bushing.
Considering the age, it is likely a solid body guitar.
Both the pickups and preamp are original.
It's noiseless yet powerful.
The bridge pickup is a split-coil type.
While hum noise during mixing is a common issue with PJ-style pickups, this one minimizes that problem.
The playability is very smooth, and the sound is speedy and refined.
A truly Sadowsky masterpiece.
The frets have approximately 80% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition. There are signs of the neck joint hole being filled and redrilled.
The body and paintwork show minor dents and fine scratches throughout.
The electronics are in good condition.
The serial number on the back of the headstock is 1608. The neck pocket has #516 handwritten in it. The fact that the neck joint hole has been filled and redrilled suggests it may be a guitar made from two different guitars.
