Description & Condition
Sandberg is a German bass guitar brand.
It's characterized by its blend of traditional design with modern specifications.
This is the California VM5, a popular model representing the brand.
The body is made of alder, the neck is maple, and the fingerboard is rosewood.
The neck pickup is original, while the bridge pickup has been replaced with a Bartolini DL5CBC.
Furthermore, the preamp has been replaced with a Markbass MB INSTRUMENT Pre, and the controls and knobs have been changed accordingly.
The combination of a thick, punchy low end, the clear and dense sound of the Bartolini pickup, and the straightforward and easy-to-use EQ characteristics of the Markbass preamp makes it suitable for a wide range of genres.
The bridge pickup supports parallel/tap/series switching, allowing for versatile sound shaping.
This is a recommended bass for players who seek modern functionality while maintaining a traditional style.
The frets have approximately 70% remaining.
The truss rod is stiff, but it can be adjusted to about 90 degrees.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork show signs of use, with scratches and dents scattered throughout. The metal parts also show some tarnishing.
The electronics are in good condition.
The bridge pickup has been replaced. The preamp has been replaced with an MB INSTRUMENT Pre. The controls and knobs have also been replaced accordingly.
