Fender is, of course, the number one brand of electric guitars and basses.
It's loved by countless top artists, including Jaco Pastorious, Marcus Miller, and Geddy Lee. (Titles omitted)
The Precision Bass, the world's first fretted solid-body electric bass, instantly captivated bassists worldwide. Its brilliance remains unchanged and it continues to be loved even more than half a century after its creation.
The shape evolved from the Original Precision Bass to the familiar look we see today in the 1950s.
This is a Precision Bass manufactured in 1965.
The neck end is stamped ""5SEP65C"".
Each potentiometer is engraved with ""137 6534"" and ""●●● 6534"".
The age was determined from other specifications.
The body is alder, and the fingerboard is round-laminated rosewood.
The pickups are original gray bobbins.
The electronics, including the potentiometers, also appear to be original.
It has been refretted and the nut replaced.
The neck condition is good, and it's in a condition that allows for long-term enjoyment.
The thick, open sound, characteristic of a Fender Precision Bass, is very appealing.
Yet, it has the speed and clarity typical of the mid-60s.
It possesses a strength that won't get lost in a modern ensemble.
