Yamaha has been a pillar of the Japanese guitar industry since its early days, a company often referred to as the Japanese equivalent of Gibson.
It's known that top musicians like John Patitucci and Nathan East use Yamaha guitars. (Titles omitted)
This model is the legendary BB2000.
It's a fretless modified version.
The body is made of alder, the neck is a 5-piece laminate of mahogany and maple, and the fingerboard is striped ebony.
A distinctive feature is the through-neck construction.
It's processed from a fretted neck, with the grooves filled with wood.
While the through-neck construction and PJ pickups reflect the era, it was the Yamaha BB series that pioneered that era.
It's characterized by a unique sound that combines robustness and sharpness.
It has the potential to excel in a wide range of genres, including rock and pop.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck shows some upward bowing. It can be played without problems with an adjustment 0.5mm higher than the GIB standard (3.0mm-2.5mm at the 12th fret).
The body and paintwork show signs of use, with small dents and scratches of about 1.0mm throughout.
The electronics are in good condition.
This is a fretted bass that has been converted to fretless.
