Limetone Audio is an effects pedal brand that has released many excellent products and enjoys the trust of top professionals.
While they have released many fantastic effects pedals, one of their biggest hits is this compressor, Focus.
The controls are limited to just five knobs: Compression, Level, Gain, Treble, and Bass.
Compressors usually have controls for ratio, threshold, attack time, and release time, but these are pre-set to some extent by the manufacturer.
An LED lights up according to the compression level, making it easy to set the compression to apply at your desired input level.
Compressors are usually very difficult to set up, but the UI design that achieves such simple controls is excellent.
The preset tone is very good; the sound is slightly pushed just by running it through.
Often, the sound becomes slightly recessed when running through a compressor, but this is intentionally designed to avoid that.
This is where the manufacturer's design sense shines through.
Gain and Level are separate controls, but increasing the Gain gives the sound a nuanced feeling of increased tension.
In addition, the built-in EQ allows for deep sound shaping that goes beyond simple compression.
It seems to be very popular among guitarists, but I would also like bassists to try it.
The design of the enclosure, the LED color and brightness, the beauty of the circuit board, the intention behind the sound—every detail is tastefully done, making it a masterpiece.
There are slight signs of use on the exterior, but overall it is in beautiful condition. It is in good working order.
