Sadowsky is a high-end New York brand with top-tier musicians like Marcus Miller and Will Lee as clients.
While the brand offers several lines at different price points, this is their top-of-the-line Custom Shop model.
It lives up to its name with its superb quality.
This is a limited-production model, with only 10 units imported into Japan.
While retaining the style of the brand's VJ5, it incorporates several practical updates.
The body is made of alder, the neck is roasted maple, and the fingerboard is made of Morado wood.
The finish is a glossy Dark Lake Placid Blue, and combined with the matching headstock, it has an outstanding presence.
A characteristic of the roasted maple used in the neck is its well-developed resonance, resulting in a playing feel that, in a good way, doesn't feel brand new.
Furthermore, it possesses a wide range and warm nuances, resulting in a juicy and joyful sound.
The quality of the meticulously designed neck area is top-notch.
The frets are beautifully rounded and set.
This high quality is what contributes to the ultra-smooth playability.
The pickups are Passive Sadowsky JJ.
The preamp features a 2-band boost in addition to a Mid Boost switch.
This allows for more flexible sound shaping.
The high frequencies are clear and crisp, while the low frequencies are thick and powerful.
