Atelier Z is a professional-grade bass brand widely loved by professional bassists both in Japan and internationally.
It's known that many prominent musicians, including Tomohito Aoki, KenKen, BOH, and JINO (titles omitted), use their basses.
The M#265 is the flagship M-series model and a signature model of Tomohito Aoki.
Based on the 1970s Fender Jazz Bass, it's a more modern development.
The body is made of ash, and the neck and fingerboard are made of maple, a standard configuration for the brand.
The natural color is beautifully complemented by the black pearl pickguard.
The pickups are made by Bartolini, and the preamp is a Bartolini XTCT.
The tuning machines are made by GOTOH, and the bridge is also made by GOTOH, not the original Badass type.
The tight low end and crisp high end produced by the heavy ash body are particularly appealing.
This is a superb instrument that lets you experience the coveted slap sound.
The frets have approximately 60% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck has a slight upward bow. It can be played without problems with an adjustment of 0.3mm higher than the GIB standard (2.3mm-3.1mm at the 12th fret).
The body and paintwork show minor dents and scratches, but no noticeable damage.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
