Description & Condition
Bacchus is a Japanese brand based in Nagano.
It's a brand under the Deviser umbrella, which owns a large guitar factory called the Asuka Factory. The high quality of their guitars, thanks to their in-house factory operations, is highly regarded by many musicians.
This is a rare Custom model from the Bacchus Handmade Series, the Twenty Four Ash Custom 5.
Based on the logo, serial number, and other detailed specifications, it appears to be a guitar manufactured in the early to mid-2000s, a period when woodworking techniques and unique parts development were most passionately integrated.
Furthermore, this model is listed in the 2005 catalog.
The body is made of 2-piece ash.
The neck is made of 3-piece maple, and the fingerboard is also made of maple.
This classic combination of woods produces tight, well-defined bass and clear, articulate treble.
The neck joint uses a 6-bolt construction.
The guitar features a heel cut, ensuring playability in the higher positions while maintaining robust rigidity to transmit the vibrations of the 5th string's low B string to the body without loss.
The hardware retains its original specifications, including features not found in current models.
The bridge is a "BACCHUS DB" with separate saddle and tailpiece sections.
The tuners are GOTOH GB7s, renowned for their high precision.
The electronics also retain the original specifications, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail of the time.
The pickup is an HMC JB-ALV housed in a wooden cover.
Equipped with an Alnico 5 magnet, it's a top-of-the-line hand-wound pickup from Bacchus, offering a modern attack that cuts through with slap bass.
The preamp is the original HMC EB-1 2-band EQ.
The low frequencies are very massive, while the high frequencies have a sharp edge and bite.
The sound has a clear attack and a tight, crisp, and superb tone.
With its quick response, this bass meets the demands of players in modern technical playing styles and percussive slap techniques at a high level.
It boasts exceptional quality, characteristic of early Asuka factory production, packed with unique, meticulously crafted parts not found in current series.
This is a highly recommended instrument for technical bass players and those seeking a reliable, high-quality 5-string bass for live performance.
Fret life is approximately 80%.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
There are scattered scratches on the body and paintwork. There are scattered dents of approximately 10.0mm to 15.0mm on the side of the body.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were observed.
