Vanzandt manufactures high-quality guitars and basses, and is particularly renowned for the quality of its vintage-style production.
This is a traditional 4-string JB model.
The body is made of alder, and the fingerboard is Indian rosewood.
This is a classic combination that includes a rich midrange.
The pickups are Vanzandt originals.
The pots are CTS, and the jack is Switchcraft – a perfect choice.
The sound is characteristic of a JB, featuring powerful lows and percussive highs.
Yet, it also has a refined, Japanese-made feel, possessing a charm that goes beyond a simple copy.
This is a superb instrument that we recommend trying for anyone looking for a high-quality Japanese-made 4-string JB.
The frets have approximately 70% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
There are several dents of about 5-10mm on the back of the body and paintwork. Scratches are visible throughout the body. There are three areas on the body top where screw holes have been filled.
The electronics are in good condition.
The tone control was malfunctioning, so we replaced the potentiometer and capacitor.
