Fender is, of course, the number one brand of electric guitars and basses.
It's loved by countless top artists, including James Jamerson, Bobby Vega, and Michael League. (Titles omitted)
The Precision Bass, introduced in 1951 as the world's first fretted solid-body electric bass, has been loved by bassists worldwide for over half a century.
This is a Precision Bass Special manufactured in the early 1980s.
Its distinctive feature is the active circuitry.
The body is painted solid, making identification difficult, but according to the catalog at the time, it's Alder.
The neck is Maple, and the fretboard is Rosewood—a classic configuration.
The pickups are Precision Bass Split Coils.
The preamp is the original active 2-band EQ.
The powerful and slightly peaky texture, characteristic of older preamps, is actually quite appealing.
The sound boasts a massive low end, high density, and is extremely powerful. This is a genuine Precision Bass with an attractive, high-quality look.
The frets have approximately 80% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork have scratches and dents. There is some rust on the bridge hardware and neck joint plate.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were observed.
