Xotic is a brand founded in LA by Japanese builder Hiro Miura.
In Japan, many famous musicians use Xotic guitars, including Yoshiki Takahashi, BJ from indigo jam unit, and Katsushi Morioka. Internationally, many famous musicians such as Chuck Rainey, Rhonda Smith, and Travis Carlton use Xotic guitars. (Titles omitted)
This is the most popular model, the XJ-1T.
The XJ series, manufactured in Japan, has been highly regarded, especially among studio musicians.
While basically built in a traditional style, it incorporates several modern updates.
The body is made of alder, and the fingerboard is rosewood—a classic combination.
It is equipped with Lindy Fralin JB-type pickups.
The preamp is a Trilogic.
The strap pins have been replaced with Jim Dunlop ones.
The sound is refined, with sufficient low frequencies and pleasant harmonics.
Playability is also very high, making it an overall high-level instrument.
Especially for session and studio musicians, there's always been a demand for a bass that combines modern playability and preamp features with the traditional sound of a JB.
