This is a new bass preamp/booster pedal.

We tested this unit at Sound Messe in Osaka in May 2026 and decided to stock it.

While it's a relatively simple preamp pedal in terms of specifications, it's packed with PJB's signature sound and logical design.

The controls are sufficient: BASS, TREBLE, LEVEL, and GAIN.

Intuitive sound shaping is possible.

The BASS and TREBLE frequency bands are 60Hz and 6kHz, respectively.

These are set slightly higher than typical bass EQs.

Therefore, the low end doesn't become excessively deep, adding volume and size to the bass, while the high end is controlled to have a slightly airy, silky texture.

This unit has a switch that appropriately adjusts the input level for both PZ (piezo pickup) and MG (magnetic pickup).

Therefore, it is compatible with a wide range of basses.

Furthermore, the EQ settings mentioned above work very synergistically with this function.

The BASS setting allows for volume adjustment while relatively avoiding feedback, and the TREBLE setting helps control the airiness of acoustic instruments or eliminates harsh sounds.

While it excels at producing a modern, clear tone with electric basses, the fact that it also offers optimal EQ control for acoustic instruments is very well thought out.

Basically, it has the clear sound characteristic of PJB, with little tonal change from the original sound, but it also provides a slight gain and punch that is typical of a bass amp.

As a main preamp, it not only replicates the amp sound but also adds a subtle bass character while retaining the raw impression of the line sound.

This sound image is somewhat reminiscent of a high-quality microphone preamp, and I think that sense of balance is one of PJB's charms.

Simple, high-quality, and outstanding.
