Cort is a leading global guitar brand representing South Korea.
They own their own factory and have a dominant presence, particularly in the field of OEM manufacturing. The fact that products from famous brands like Ibanez and PRS are produced at Cort's factory is already well-established.
Cort's original brand lineup was born from the accumulation of this vast OEM manufacturing know-how.
This is the GB4, a model based on the traditional JB with modern updates.
The body top is made of Spalted Maple, and the body back is made of Swamp Ash.
The organic grain of the Spalted Maple is very impressive.
The neck is made of Maple, and the fingerboard is likely Rosewood.
The pickups are made by Seymour Duncan.
The preamp is a Duncan Design BEQ-3.
The hardware, including the HIPSHOT licensed tuners, is of high quality, suggesting that this bass was not designed with cost-cutting in mind.
The layout of a JB-type single-coil pickup in the neck position and an MM-type humbucking pickup in the bridge position is popular today, but achieving a good balance is not easy.
