Sadowsky is a high-end New York brand with top-tier musicians like Marcus Miller and Will Lee as clients.
While the brand offers several lines at different price points, this is their top-of-the-line Custom Shop model.
It lives up to its name with its superb quality.
This is the SJ5, a standard 5-string JB model.
The body is made of Swamp Ash.
The ash grain is prominently displayed, resulting in an organic and beautiful look.
Even the control panel on the back is made from the same material as the body.
Like the NYC models, the body is chambered.
The slightly acoustic resonance is pleasant, and you'll notice a significant impact on playability as well as weight reduction.
The neck and fretboard are made of Roasted Birdseye Maple.
The beautiful Birdseye grain is very attractive.
The quality of the carefully designed neck area is top-notch.
The frets are beautifully rounded and set. It is this high quality that results in ultra-smooth playability.
The pickups and preamp are original.
The pickups are hum-canceling type, and the preamp has only a 2-band boost.
A combination that is full of Sadowsky's characteristic style.
The high frequencies are clear and crisp, and the low frequencies are thick and powerful.
As expected of a top-of-the-line model, it combines refined ease of use with an eloquent sound.
This is a supreme active JB that I wholeheartedly recommend with confidence.
The frets have approximately 80% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork have some minor scratches, but are generally clean.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
