Pensa Suhr is an original brand of Rudy's, a guitar shop in New York.
Rudy's has produced many renowned builders, including John Suhr, Stephan Marchione, Mas Hino, and Jimmy Coppolo, all of whom worked there. (Titles omitted)
Later, Pensa Suhr changed its brand name to Pensa Custom.
While Pensa Custom also boasts excellent quality, many still seek out Pensa Suhr.
This model is a custom-made JB replica.
Manufactured in 1993, it was built by Mas Hino.
The body features a quilted maple top and an ash back.
The beauty of the top wood is a hallmark of Pensa, and its high grade is evident.
The neck and fretboard are made of maple.
A 70's-style wood combination.
The pickups are Bartolini, and the preamp is original.
This guitar features a treble boost/cut control and a bass boost-only control, a feature shared with Sadowsky Tokyo and current Pensa preamps.
It's equipped with a BADASS BASS II bridge.
This is an early model using slotted screws.
It's characterized by a powerful, massive, thick low end and sharp, crisp highs.
In addition, its smooth playability is a major attraction.
This is truly a guitar that embodies the NY sound.
The frets have approximately 55% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork have scratches and dents.
The electronics are in good condition.
All knobs have been replaced with GIB Basic Modern S knobs.
Both volume pots appear to have been replaced with current CTS pots.
