Sugi is a brand founded by Mr. Sugimoto, a legend who has supported Japanese guitar making for many years.
They manufacture high-quality guitars and basses in Nagano Prefecture and are highly regarded by many musicians.
Their basses are known to be favored by musicians such as Hojin Egawa and Mike Porcaro of TOTO.
This model is the NB5, Sugi's flagship model.
This is a 5-string model with a 34-inch neck.
The body top is Exotic Maple, and the body back is Honduran mahogany 2P.
The combination of the Exotic Maple grain and gold hardware is beautiful and makes this instrument stand out.
The neck is a laminated type with a maple core.
This technique of laminating multiple pieces of wood to create the neck reduces left-right and individual differences, resulting in greater stability.
The fingerboard is Indian Rosewood.
This fingerboard material is attractive for its dense midrange.
This guitar features Sugi SB-84WJP pickups.
The controls are a simple passive circuit with neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume, and master tone.
Despite being a 24-fret guitar, it doesn't sound overly tight, instead boasting a distinctive open midrange.
This seems to positively impact both fingerstyle and slap playing.
Sound, looks, and playability—everything about this guitar is top-notch.
Fret life is approximately 90%.

*Defect Warranty
Basic Co., Ltd. provides a warranty against defects for products sold by the company. Excluding some items such as consigned goods, we will repair (or refund if repair is not possible) any malfunctions that occur during normal use within a certain warranty period from the date of purchase free of charge.
The warranty period is 3 months for used items and 1 year for new items.
Please note that the following cases will incur a charge even within the warranty period:
* Malfunctions and damage caused by transportation, movement, dropping, etc.
* Replacement of consumables.
* Malfunctions and damage caused by fire, earthquake, salt damage, gas damage, or abnormal voltage.
* Malfunctions and damage caused by handling contrary to the precautions described in the instruction manual.
* Malfunctions or damage to parts repaired or modified by parties other than our company.
* If the warranty card does not have your name, model name, serial number, etc. filled in, or if the text has been altered.
* If the warranty card is not presented or is lost.
