The Precision Bass, introduced in 1951 as the world's first fretted solid-body electric bass, has been loved by bassists worldwide for over half a century.

This model is a 1976 Precision Bass with custom modifications throughout.

The neck date is faded and difficult to read, but it indicates a 1975 production date (010xx05xx).

The serial number shows characteristics of a 1976 production serial.

Based on the above, we have determined that this instrument used a neck manufactured in 1975 and was shipped in 1976.

The body is likely made of ash.

The body shows considerable signs of use overall, giving it a very dignified look, suggesting it has performed on many stages.

The neck and fretboard are made of 1-piece maple.

The pickups have been modified to a PJ layout.

Both pickups have been replaced, but the manufacturer could not be identified.

The pickguard has been replaced, and the control plate can be removed separately.

There is a routing near the cavity, likely for a 9V battery, indicating it was previously converted to an active system.

Currently, it is passive, with controls for neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume, and master tone.

It has also been refretted and the nut replaced.

The pots and jack have also been replaced with current models.

Although this instrument has undergone multiple custom modifications, the neck and electronics are in good condition, making it ready to play immediately.

The powerful, tight low end and bright attack are characteristic of Precision Basses from this era.

The combination with the J-type pickup added to the bridge also provides a crisp, articulate tone.

This is highly recommended for those looking for a ready-to-use 70's guitar that can continue to be played actively.

The frets have approximately 70% remaining.

The truss rod is in good condition.

The neck is in good condition.

The body and paintwork show signs of use, with dents, paint chips, and scratches.

The electronics are in good condition.

It has been converted to a PJ type. It has been refretted and had its nut replaced. The pickguard has been replaced, and the control plate can be removed separately. It has been fitted with S-Lock strap pins. All knobs have been replaced. All potentiometers have been replaced with current CTS parts, and the jack has been replaced with a current Switchcraft jack. The capacitors have also been replaced.
