Description & Condition

Sadowsky is a high-end bass brand founded by Roger Sadowsky in New York.
Long favored by top professionals such as Marcus Miller and Will Lee, it is known as one of the defining brands of the active Jazz Bass-style instrument.
Among its lines, the NYC models built in the New York workshop represent Sadowsky's top tier and remain highly sought after today.

This is a 2009 NYC model, the Standard 4 string.
We are told it was originally ordered by a Korean musician, and it is finished in a striking spec that pairs gold hardware with a beautiful top.

The body features a Quilted Maple top over an Ash back, with a Maple neck and an Ebony fingerboard.
The Quilted Maple top shows a gorgeous, rippling three-dimensional figure, and with the sunburst gradient and high-gloss finish it changes character with every viewing angle.
The back is finished in a brown tone that lets the Ash grain show through.
The deep black of the Ebony fingerboard sets off the golden hues of the body.

It is loaded with two Sadowsky J-style pickups.
Controls are volume, balance, passive tone, and a stacked treble/bass knob, with active/passive switching.
The bridge is a Badass Bass II, the tuners and neck plate carry the Sadowsky logo, and all hardware is gold.

This bass combines the careful craftsmanship of an NYC model with looks that catch the eye at first glance.
