Gibson is the king of the guitar world, having produced countless masterpieces. While their guitars are particularly renowned, their basses, with their distinctive looks and rock sound, are also extremely popular.

This instrument is a masterpiece from the recently revamped EB series. It was manufactured in 2017.

It boasts a well-balanced design that feels effortless, even coming from Fender, and in some ways, is unlike any Gibson.

With an ash body, three-piece maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard, it features features similar to Fender. However, the neck joint is a traditional set-neck style, joined at an angle.

The headstock is also angled, a signature Gibson style, rather than the parallel step-style of Fender.

The neck is a three-piece laminate, made from carefully selected quartersawn wood. Quartersawn wood is known for its strength in a specific direction—in guitars and basses, the direction in which the strings are pulled.

The technique of bonding multiple pieces of wood together to create the neck reduces warping and individual variations, while achieving greater stability.

Powerful humbucking pickups are employed, which can also be operated as single-coil pickups via a push-pull switch.

This allows for a distinct, low-noise, powerful humbucker sound, even when balanced, and the sharp, single-coil sound when mixed.

The playability is familiar to those familiar with Fender, and the sound incorporates elements of both Gibson and Fender.

Its extremely lightweight design also makes it a highly reliable model for musicians.

There was a problem with the truss rod upon arrival, but GIB repaired it and completely resolved the issue. The truss rod nut was replaced with a solid part imported from Japan during the repair.

Frets have approximately 90% remaining. The truss rod is fully tightened.
