The Jazz Bass was released as a premium model of the Precision Bass.
Its sharp, clear sound is beloved by many bassists, and it continues to enjoy overwhelming support and a shining presence to this day.

This Jazz Bass was manufactured in 1982.

The neck end is stamped XX0382, and the back of the neck is stamped XX020382.
The bridge pickup is stamped XX2581.

Based on these factors, we have determined that this was manufactured in 1982.

The body appears to be ash.

The neck and fingerboard are maple.

There are areas of missing binding on the fret side and nut side, suggesting that the instrument has been refretted and re-nutted.

The pickups on the neck side are Seymour Duncan SJB-3Ns, while the bridge side is the original gray bobbin.

The bridge has been replaced with a Badass II.

The punchy low frequencies from the heavy body and the crisp high frequencies from the maple fingerboard are appealing.

The dignified looks are also irresistible.

I recommend it.

Approximately 50% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paint have numerous scratches and dents, and some areas of paint have peeled.
The electrical system is in good condition.
There are areas on the fret side and nut side where the binding is missing, suggesting the guitar has been refretted and re-nutted.
The bridge has been replaced with a Badass II.
The neck pickup has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan SJB-3N.
The strap pins have been replaced with Schaller types.
The wiring has been tweaked, with some solder marks.
The potentiometers and jack appear to be original CTS models, but the pot dates are hidden, making it difficult to say for sure.
The capacitors are ceramic, commonly known as Red Dime capacitors.
These differ from the standard Fender capacitors from the 1980s, so they may have also been replaced.
One screw in the pickguard has been replaced.
