Sadowsky is a high-end New York brand whose clientele includes top musicians like Marcus Miller and Will Lee.
While the Metroline Express series was previously manufactured in Japan, production has shifted to a Chinese factory following Warwick's assumption of distribution for Sadowsky products.
Despite the lower retail price, high quality is maintained, making it a uniquely distinctive product in its price range.
When the Metroline Express series first launched, it didn't feature the Sadowsky logo, but this has since been successfully changed.
This is the long-awaited new 24-fret modern model.
The body is made of Okoume, while the neck and fingerboard utilize Roasted Maple.
The body balance is excellent, and the sound is the result of a well-considered design, ultimately achieving a very refined balance.
The neck features a satin finish, providing a smooth feel.
The pickups are soapbar-style, and the preamp is the familiar 2-band boost EQ type.
The preamp circuit board is nearly identical to that found in top-tier models priced around ¥1,000,000, which is a significant advantage.
Controls include Volume, Balance, Bass, and Treble.
A push-pull switch allows bypassing the active circuit for passive play.
The powerful, crisp sound is slightly more flashy than recent NYC models.
Some may actually prefer this sound when listening purely for its tone.
Creating a product of this same high quality within the same price range seems far from easy.
