Description & Condition

Tatchi Bass is a Korean bass brand.
They specialize in crafting Fender-style instruments, with a particular passion for the so-called Pre-CBS era, specifically instruments made up until around 1965.
A standout feature is that they develop nearly all parts themselves, from pickups and tuning machines to bridges and finishes.
They deeply analyze Pre-CBS Fenders to select the optimal woods, wiring materials, and metals.
They design each part with intent, maintaining control over every detail in the bass-making process. While this approach is ideal, it's actually extremely challenging.
As you can see, the model GIB ordered this time is a Jazz Bass type.
The body is made of Alder.
The color is Burgundy Mist, finished with a nitrocellulose lacquer coating.
The neck and fingerboard are Maple, a very classic configuration.
While the brand often uses satin finishes on necks, this particular instrument was ordered with a gloss finish.
The actual finish is superb, lending it an even more traditional feel.
Original hardware is used.
Classic reverse-wound tuning machines and a spiral bridge.
Regarding the metal materials, including the control plate, they describe it as Sound Steel.
This is a reproduction based on analysis of vintage Fender hardware.
The pickups are original single-coils.
Black bobbins with cross-wound wire.
While fundamentally aiming for a vintage-like character, it has a slightly cleaner, tighter impression.
It retains its trebly character, offering a rich, appealing sound.
Simply built with volume and tone controls, passive wiring.
The sound is truly the ultimate JB sound.
Powerful, expansive low end, richly harmonic midrange, crisp treble.
It avoids common 5-string pitfalls like excessive darkness or lack of treble.
It delivers a focused impression without feeling narrow in range.
It offers a fat nuance yet maintains a speedy output.
Personally, I believe these are the very elements that define a truly great bass.
A masterpiece showcasing the builder's expertise and skill.
Please try it in-store.
