Provision Guitar is a handmade brand based in Yamaguchi Prefecture that produces high-quality guitars.
They're known for being favorites of professional musicians such as Naoto Tada, Takayoshi Negishi, Ken Taneda, and Kazuya Kojima (back number).
They're particularly renowned for the high quality of their Fender-style basses.
This is an extremely simple Precision Bass replica custom-ordered by GIB.
As intended, the finished product is a masterpiece that embodies all of Provision's charm.
The body is made of alder and the fingerboard is made of Jacaranda (Brazilian rosewood), a classic construction.
Brazilian rosewood was used by Fender and Gibson at certain times, and is now known for its rarity, with international trade restricted.
Using this wood is no easy task (both in terms of availability and cost).
As such, it's likely that using it for guitars will become nearly impossible in the future.
Brazilian rosewood is relatively hard among rosewoods, and in terms of texture it's somewhere between ebony and this rare material.
This guitar is generously slab-laid with this rare Brazilian rosewood.
The finish is an extremely thin, all-lacquer finish with the renowned relic finish.
This quality is top-notch, as you can see.
The tuners and bridge are GOTOH relic finishes (FB30lLP/RELIC, VTB-4RELIC).
The pickups are original Provision models designed with feedback from professional musicians in mind, with CTS 250KA potentiometers and a Switchcraft #11 jack.
The capacitors are ceramic, a nod to vintage design.
The overall specs clearly reflect a motif of vintage Fenders from 1961-62.
The capacitor value is 0.047μF.
In fact, many Precision Basses from this period use 0.1μF capacitors, but this was chosen with modern usability in mind.
Even when the tone is turned down, there is less roll-off in the high frequencies, so it balances well with modern ensembles at any setting.
It has an appealing sound, combining an overwhelmingly full low end with a powerful, rich mid-range.
The strong, bouncy response when large string vibrations are applied is very realistic, and will likely feel familiar to fans of vintage Fender.
This is a guitar that we would recommend to anyone looking for a simply great PB.

The warranty period is three months for used products and one year for new products.
