Maurizio Über Basses is a Malaysian-based brand that produces high-class basses.
The builder, Maurizio Caduto, originally from Italy, is highly regarded especially in Europe for his beautifully crafted pieces with a unique sense of style.
The Miezo is a 5-string bass with a compact design, about half the size of a regular bass.
The scale is 18 inches, much shorter than the usual 34 inches.
Tuning is the same as from the 12th fret of a regular bass.
The ergonomic design is wonderfully balanced and feels partially similar to a full-size bass.
The body is made of African Mahogany core with one-piece Rain tree top and back.
Rain tree is an unfamiliar wood, but it is what we call Monkey Pod.
The body is not neck-jointed, which makes it very unique in terms of looks.
The fingerboard is Ovangkol.
One Bartolini dual coil pickup is installed.
Hardware is ETS/M0b and the paint is lacquer with satin finish.
It has an attractive sound unique to short basses containing beautiful overtones.
