ESP is one of Japan's leading guitar brands, earning worldwide fame alongside Fender and Gibson.
The company is supported by many professional artists, and IKUO, Hidekazu Hyuga, Kazuhiko Nakamura, and others are known to use the company's basses.
STREAM is a relatively recently released original model.
The body shape shaped by beautiful woodwork is literally like a flowing river.
Beautiful flame maple is placed on the top of the body, giving it a unique look.
The body back is ash.
The fingerboard is made of high-quality Honduran rosewood, and the matching neck is a 7-piece neck made of maple, walnut, and padouk laminate.
The finish of the fretting and other fine details are of high quality and need no longer be explained.
The tuning keys are HIPSHOT Ultralite, and the bridge is HIPSHOT Style A Brass.
The choice was made with both playability and sound in mind.
Many Japanese basses often use Gotoh parts for the main hardware, but I personally like the design of this new bass, which incorporates Western standard styles.
The pickups are EMG 35P4 and 35J, and the preamp is the company's BTC. Naturally, the noise level is very low and the sound is clear.
Despite its appearance, the sound is straightforward and cohesive.
The front pickup has a full range but strong low push.
When the rear is mixed, the presence component increases while the middle range is gradually swept and changes to a clear low end.
The slap tone dropout in this position is beautiful.
The rear pickup by itself gives a full speed response, and boosting the bass a little gives a sound that is fully usable in an ensemble.
The remaining frets are approximately 70%.
The truss rod is in good working order and the neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork are in good condition, with dings and scratches throughout. The neck is similarly in good condition and shows considerable use.
The peg on the first string is distorted. There are no operational problems.
There is a weight on the control plate, but it appears to be a mod applied by all owners to improve the balance of the head.
It is easy to remove. (I can't say for sure if it will come off cleanly or not)
