In Japan, it is used by Yoshiteru Takahashi, BJ of Indigo Jam Unit, and Katsuji Morioka, and internationally, it is used by many famous musicians such as Chuck Rainey, Rhonda Smith, and Travis Carlton.
XJ CORE is a new series that incorporates more American nuances.
For the XJ-1T, all work from sawing to assembly is done in Japan, but for the Core series, sawing, forming, rod preparation, etc. are done in the United States, and painting and assembly are done in Japan.
The original development began at Xotic USA, with the cooperation of Travis Carlton in production.
This is a custom order item from GIB.
The body is Alder and the fingerboard is Maple, a classic wood.
As a result, the rich midrange characteristic of Alder is well balanced with the dense low frequency characteristic of Maple. It's amazing.
The PU is Lindy Fralin, and the circuit is passive 2Vol, 1Tone.
The painting method is the same as that of the XJ-1T, but the paint on this model feels so thin that you can almost see through the conduits.
This may be because it is a lacquer finish and not the familiar multi-layer finish.
The model is said to be simple, delicate, and richly expressive, with the theme of harmony between modernity and tradition, and that's exactly what it says.
When you actually play it, it feels like the minute movements of the strings are simply reflected in the sound.
Taking this into account, it makes sense that it was designed as a passive model that intentionally eliminates the excellent preamplifier that is Xotic's major strength.
