Cortex is a guitar brand based in Switzerland and France.
They mainly manufacture basses, and I actually heard a lot about their reputation at a guitar show in Germany, and I certainly felt it when I touched one.

This is the Napoleon model. (Great name, isn't it?).

It has a double-cut body with a long horn on the bass string side and an overall undulating design.
It is a little different from the Fender type nuance, and I feel that the beautiful looks are waiting to be coupled with the Buckeye burl on the top of the body.

One of the most distinctive aspects is the head shape and the placement of the tuning keys.
One tuning key for the low B string is placed on the left side of the street from the nut, and all others are on the right. I sense an intention.

My thought is that the low B string especially needs to be thoughtfully angled from the nut, and the tension pin puts it under control.
I don't think it is something like the farther the tuning key is from the nut, the more tension is involved.

I don't know the truth, so I'll ask the maker next time I'm in Germany. (I talk about those things sometimes, so please watch Youtube ......!)

The body back is mahogany, the neck is walnut, and the fingerboard is ebony.
The body back is mahogany, neck is walnut, and fingerboard is ebony.

PU is Nordstrand, preamp is Glockenklang.
The founder is from France and Switzerland, but here are American and German parts. The multinational feel is nice.

The scale is 34 inches.

Sound-wise, it has a very clean but well-balanced sound that does not lose its deliciousness as a bass.
I feel the reason why the tool used for the bass position continues to be in the shape of a guitar (and why that shape is so popular).

It has a certain quality, and when you actually play it, you will be convinced of its sound and the texture of playing it.
First of all, please try to play it. It is an interesting instrument.

The remaining frets are approximately 80%.
The truss rod is a little stiff, but we have confirmed that it works at least 90 degrees.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and paintwork are in good condition, with a few 3mm dents on the sides of the body and near the back panel. Overall, the instrument is relatively clean and beautiful.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
