Music Man was Leo Fender's second brand and was beloved by bassists worldwide.

Many artists, including Louis Johnson and Flea, are known to use the brand's basses. (Titles omitted)

The Stingray is the brand's most popular and classic model.
It's no exaggeration to say that, alongside the Fender Jazz Bass and Precision Bass, it's one of the most popular basses in the world.

Speaking of Stingrays, the specifications differ before and after Music Man was acquired by Erni Ball, and models from before the acquisition are specially treated as Pre-Ernie models.

The Stingray was introduced in 1976, and the specifications changed around 1980.

This particular guitar was manufactured in 1977, making it one of the earliest.

The neck is stamped APR 19 1977. The neck pocket is stamped APR 3 1977.

The date has been determined based on a comprehensive assessment.

Key features include a flat body, three-knob circuit, three-point joint, and through-the-back bridge.

It features a woodier, lower-pitched sound than models equipped with four-knob preamps.

However, this is only comparatively speaking; when viewed alone, boosting the preamp produces a crisp, powerful sound.

Boosting the lows produces a punchier sound, while boosting the treble produces a more vibrant, attacking sound.

The maple neck is beautifully crafted in one piece with no glue.

This is one of those appealing vintage basses.

Approximately 70% of the frets remain.
The truss rod is stiff, but has been confirmed to move about 90 degrees.
The neck is in good condition.
The body and finish show occasional dents and scratches.

The electrical system is in good condition.
The frets have been replaced. The nut was replaced at our shop.
