Ibanez is a leading Japanese guitar brand that is recognized worldwide along with Fender and Gibson.
The BTB is especially designed for multi-string basses and features unique looks but very good playability.
This is a premium series gem that was presented at NAMM 2017.
The beautiful looks of the multiple wood combinations are worth mentioning.
The neck is 9-piece wenge/bubinga/maple, the body is rosewood top and back, and the core is ash.
These are jointed with a through neck.
The PU is Aguilar/DCB, and the preamp is the original 3-band type.
The treble operates as tone when passive, and the middle freqency can be switched by a mini-switch.
It is flexible and has not too much or not enough of the elements that bassists are looking for.
Overall, the specs are nice and typical of higher-end models.
The sound is very smooth, fat, and rich in overtones.
You can feel the depth of nostalgia that allows it to be used in a wide range of ensembles, both for jazz and rock.
The frets are approximately 80% full.
The truss rod is almost fully tightened.
The neck is slightly bowed, but the string height at the 12th fret is 1.8mm on the 1st string side and 2.8mm on the 6th string side, and it can be played without any sound clogging or chattering. If it could be lowered this low, it would not be a problem for many. Also, this condition is in the winter phase and could be improved a bit more in the summer. In fact, as a result of being stored in our humidity-controlled store, it seems to have improved since it arrived.
There is a 2mm ding on the tip of the head.
The condition of the body and paint surface has a few fine, scratch-like dents on the sides of the body and near the waist cut.
No clear modification points were found.
The strings are R.Cocco.
This is the most highly regarded brand in the world, and we hope you will enjoy it as well.
