Black Smoker is a handmade brand launched in 2016 by the workshop BLACK CLOUD in Azumino, Nagano.

The instruments produced by two skilled builders with a wealth of experience are supported by many professional musicians, including Shunsuke Ochi, Futoshi Sakai and Ren Yamamoto.

This model is a 5-string passive JB type from the TRAD MASTER series.

The paintwork is all done in lacquer and has a beautiful aged finish.
The sound and playing comfort are also in the traditional direction.
It has plenty of low end, which is likely to help with bass-like positioning in an ensemble.
Despite being a 5-string bass, the punch of the E-string is also appealing in a 4-string bass-like way.

There are roughly 80% frets remaining.
The truss rod and neck are in good condition.
