Aria is an international brand that has been active since the early days of guitar making in Japan.
As a brand owned by Arai Trading, a large trading company, it excels at combining high quality with accessible pricing.
This is the VBM-2013, a flagship model developed to achieve high playability in response to a request from Bob Spalding, the leader of THE VENTURES.
The body top is made of flamed maple, and the body back is made of alder.
The body is chambered, resulting in a full midrange and smooth response.
The beautiful grain of the flamed maple is beautifully complemented by the clear pickguard.
The fingerboard is made of rosewood.
The unique inlays are also striking.
The nut is made of brass.
In addition to its high durability, it features a bright sound with excellent attack.
The pickup is the original Seymour Duncan SJB-1.
The neck is mounted at a slant, resulting in a more defined sound.
As a side note, this model apparently replicates Bob Spalding's own settings when shipped new.
The chambered body provides a light and comfortable playability, and the rich, smooth midrange attack is particularly appealing.
This is a masterpiece packed with meticulous specifications, a guitar that anyone, not just fans, should consider.
The frets have approximately 70% remaining.
The truss rod is in good condition.
The neck shows some high-frequency bowing. It can be played without problems with an adjustment of 0.3mm higher than the GIB standard (2.3mm-2.8mm at the 12th fret).
The body and paintwork show some scratches and dents.
The electronics are in good condition.
No obvious modifications were observed.
