Hofner is a brand that produces so-called violin basses and other distinctive instruments.
Paul McCartney and others are known to have used their basses.

This is a Senator Bass from the 1960s.

It has a big hollowbody, which gives it a big sound with a somewhat loose feel.
It has some signs of use, but there are no major problems with playing it, and it is in player's condition.

The remaining frets are approximately 60%.
The truss rod is a little stiff, but we have confirmed that it works at about 90 degrees.

The neck is in good condition, with a high upswing and more forward twist on the 1st string side than on the 4th string side.
The string height at the 12th fret is 2.2mm on the 1st string side and 2.7mm on the 4th string side, and it is playable without any chattering or clogging.

Due to the structure of the bridge, it is not possible to lower the string height any further.

The surface of the head has peeling paint.
The logo has come off and is missing, probably due to this.
The back of the head and the grips are weather checked.
The nut groove on the 3rd string is cut wider than the string (or appears to have been chipped), but this is not a playing problem for a 0-fret bass.

The condition of the body and painted surfaces is generally weather-checked.
There is a visible 15mm wood ding on the side of the body.
The condition of the electrical system is such that there is a buzzing noise when the volume is turned. Tone operation is good.

Both strap pins have been replaced with Schaller locking pins.

Controls : volume, tone
Nut width : 42.5mm
Pitch between strings at bridge : 14.0mm
