Wing is the undisputed number one brand of electric guitars and basses.

It is loved by countless top artists such as James Jamerson, Bobby Vega and Michael League.

The Precision Bass was the world's first fretted solid electric bass, and it quickly became a magnet for bassists the world over.
More than half a century after its birth, its brilliance is still as beloved as ever.

This product is a Precision Bass manufactured in 1969, one of the most popular vintage years.

The body is made of alder and the fingerboard is rosewood, a popular spec.

The neck end is stamped '5JUN69B'.

The pot dates are both '1376642' and although there is a slight difference in age, we have determined that they are original.

Conductive paint has been applied inside the cavity and there is metallic foil tape on the pickguard.

The sound is full in the lower register, with a low centre of gravity nuance.
We think the low centre of gravity with a sinking sound is pleasant in an ensemble.

The remaining frets are approximately 60%.
The truss rod action is a little stiff, but we have confirmed that it works at about 90°.
The neck is in good condition. There are some marks on the head side where the paint seems to have dripped.
The condition of the body and paintwork shows dents commensurate with its age. There is an elongated scratch on the body back measuring about 120 mm.
The electrical system is in good condition.
Paint dripping can be seen on the head side, possibly due to a neck refinish. The paint is peeling nicely on the nut side and the nut may have been replaced. The frets also appear to have been refretted or grated. The bridge has been moved. (Currently the centre is approximately correct.) The bridge itself seems to be original. The jack has been replaced with a Japanese one. (Model number unknown).
