Fender is the undisputed number one brand of electric guitars and basses.
Fender is loved by countless top artists such as Jaco Pastorious, Marcus Miller, and Geddy Lee.

The Jazz Bass was released as a higher-end model of the Precision Bass.
Its sharp and clear sound has been loved by many bassists, and even today it enjoys overwhelming support and a shining presence.

This is a Jazz Bass from the 1970s.

We have determined that it was made in 1972 based on the serial number, brand logo, and PU arrangement.
It is possible that it was made in 1973, but it is hard to say. Please understand.

With the recent price hike of vintage Fender guitars, 1970's guitars are very popular because they are still in affordable price range.

The body is made of Alder and the fingerboard is made of Rosewood, which is more like 1960's style.

The body has been refinished and is now natural.
Looking under the pickguard, one can see the sunburst color and the gold color.

It is possible that the unit was converted from sunburst to gold, and finally the color layer was scraped off and the unit was repainted natural.
It looks like it has been aged and used since it became natural.
It is by no means a new paint job just after refinishing.

The PU appears to have been replaced with a Fender Custom brand one.
The pots have been replaced with CTS and the capacitors have been replaced as well.
The jack appears to be original, but is difficult to determine.

The frets appear to have been replaced.
This work has been done very carefully, and I think it is safe to say that it is an improvement over the original, if only in terms of quality.
Along with this, we judge that the nut has also been replaced.

Perhaps the pickguard is not original.

The neck end is stamped “X.ARMENTA”.

The frets are approximately 80% remaining.
The truss rod is in good working order.
The condition of the neck is symptomatic of a high rise. It can be played without any problem by adjusting the string height from 2.4 to 2.9mm. There is room left in the frets, so if you would like to set a lower string height, we can make a suitable modification for that.
The condition of the body and painted surface shows some dents.
The electrical system is in good condition.

There is a crack in the neck joint. (Currently there is no functional problem.) There are some areas where the paint has melted and there is no functional problem. One pickguard screw is missing. You can see the center shift (it's closer to the bass string side). You can see the center shift (it's closer to the bass string side).

The pot is made by CTS and the condenser has been replaced with an Orange Drop. The jack also appears to have been replaced. The paint on the body has been removed and it now has a natural color finish. (I think it was originally 3-tone sunburst based on the paint left on the back of the pickguard. I think the pickguard has also been replaced. It has probably been refretted. (I judge from the neatness of the nut, which has a well-treated fret side.)
