Fender Japan started in the 80s as Fender made in Japan, but unfortunately it has now been discontinued and integrated into Fender itself.
However, the brand's quality is still supported by many artists and is still sought after today.
This is a reproduction of the first specification of the Precision bass, before it became what it is today.
It is therefore called the Original Precision Bass.
There are OPB models with a front-through bridge, but this one is back-through and true to the classic style.
The distinctive PU seems to have been replaced with a Seymour Duncan one.
The sound is fat, in-your-face and straight.
It is unique to the OPB.
The frets are approximately 80% remaining.
The truss rod is almost fully tightened. It takes courage to tighten it any further.
The neck is currently slightly forward warped.
It may return to the correct position in the summer.
The neck is currently 2.2mm high on the 1st string and 2.7mm high on the 4th string at the 12th fret.
The bridge saddle on the first string has been lowered so the string height cannot be lowered any further without shims or other modifications.
The condition of the body and paintwork has a number of scratches that are not easily visible.
Overall, it is in the beautiful condition category.
The electrical system is in good condition.
No obvious modifications were found.
