It is loved by countless top artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, John McLaughlin, and Tomo Fujita.
Duo-Sonic was a student model produced by Fender in 1956 for students and children.
Although it is positioned as an inexpensive student model, it is famous for being used by legendary guitarists such as the late Jimi Hendrix and the late Johnny Winter.
It was often used in the punk scene in the late 70's and in the alternative rock scene in the 90's, and has been a colorful part of the underground music scene.
This model is Duo-Sonic manufactured in 1961.
It has a body smaller and thinner than Fender's typical Stratocaster and Telecaster.
It is lightweight, easy to hold, and easy to handle.
The neck is made of maple and the fingerboard is made of hakaranda.
The rare material, Hakaranda, is laminated with slabs, a specification that is unthinkable today.
The scale is 22.5" short scale.
It is shorter than Mustang, which also appeared in 1964 as a student model, and is a rare specification unique to this period.
Two single coil pickups are installed under the cover.
The characteristic sound is crisp and shimmering.
When mixed, the two pickups are connected in series, producing a thicker and firmer sound. The wiring is the same as that of a typical humbucking PU. Of course, noise is canceled.
