The J-Special model features a body shape that stylishly adapts a traditional style.
One feature worth noting about this model is the optional aluminum top.

The body back is made of chambered alder.
It is finished with an extremely thin urethane coating.
The slightly thin body thickness, combined with the chambered body, produces a powerful response that bounces back the strings when they are plucked, which is one of this model's most unique features.
The neck is made of maple and the fingerboard is made of rosewood.
This is a major advantage, as it produces an open sound that is not overly dark, despite having 24 frets.
While this model normally comes equipped with humbucking pickups, this one features a newly developed single-coil pickup.
It has the sharp, deep low end you'd expect from a single-coil pickup.
The preamp with a 3-band EQ is an original design.
Boosting the preamp increases the volume without making it sound muddy, and even extreme settings (such as all the way up) produce a great sound.
