Tom Anderson Guitarworks is a premier high-end guitar brand based in the United States, known for its unparalleled quality.

Many renowned artists, including Neal Schon, Richie Sambora, Michael Landau, Takakazu Yahori, and DAITA (titles omitted), are known to use Tom Anderson guitars.

The founder, Tom Anderson, was once a professional guitarist himself. Throughout his career, he constantly pursued better sound and playability. Based on that experience, he incorporated numerous innovative ideas into his instruments. By combining cutting-edge technology with masterful craftsmanship and using only the finest tonewoods, each guitar is meticulously handcrafted.

By limiting production quantities, Tom Anderson ensures thorough quality control for each individual instrument, achieving an extraordinary level of precision and consistency.

In terms of playability, the guitars feature an ideal neck profile and low-action setup, providing players with a stress-free playing experience. The necks are incredibly stable, and the stainless steel frets—highly resistant to wear—maintain excellent playability over the long term.

Sonically, the guitars offer a rich tonal palette suited for a wide range of music styles. This versatility makes them ideal for both live performances and studio recordings, regardless of genre or setting.

Because Tom Anderson is a guitarist himself, his instruments are truly designed from a player’s perspective—making each one the ultimate tool for any guitarist.

About “The Classic”
This model, The Classic, is one of Tom Anderson’s flagship guitars. It’s based on the traditional Stratocaster design but incorporates numerous modern innovations.

While paying homage to vintage tones, it features smooth playability and perfectly blends modern performance with vintage character.

The body is crafted from highly figured Swamp Ash, finished in a transparent yellow that highlights the grain. The pearloid pickguard adds a cool visual accent. Recently, lightweight Ash has become rare, but despite having a locking tremolo system, this guitar weighs only 3.13kg—making it exceptionally lightweight.

The neck is made from hard maple, paired with a rosewood fingerboard. All the wood used is hand-selected and perfectly seasoned.

The neck features the most popular grip, Even-Taper, a 1 5/8" nut width, and a 25.5" scale length. The fingerboard has a compound radius, changing from 12" to 14" from low to high frets, ensuring smooth playability and enhanced sustain even with low action.

The neck joint uses Tom Anderson’s original A-Wedge design. Though it's a bolt-on joint using two screws, the trapezoidal shape increases contact area, reducing alignment issues and enhancing resonance.

The joint area also features a smooth, heel-less design for improved high fret access. These precise and advanced construction techniques, such as the compound radius and unique neck joint, showcase the brand’s remarkable craftsmanship.

Fretwire is Tom Anderson’s proprietary stainless steel “Heavy” frets, which sit between jumbo and medium-jumbo. They offer durability and a smooth feel while retaining a tone very similar to traditional nickel frets.

Pickup Configuration
Neck: SA1R

Middle: SA1

Bridge: H3

These pickups are hand-made in-house using 1950s-style winding machines.

The SA1R and SA1 are stacked, low-noise single coils that retain the sparkle and clarity of vintage-style pickups.

The H3 bridge pickup uses a ceramic magnet, delivering powerful, fat, and clear tone.

The overall sound of this guitar is characterized by a well-balanced mix of mellow mids, rich lows, and brilliant highs that never sound harsh.

Electronics and Hardware
This guitar features Switcheroo and Blower Switch systems.

The Switcheroo allows each pickup to be turned on/off individually and can be set to series, split, or parallel modes. This enables unique configurations like using neck + bridge (like a Telecaster) and much more.

The Blower Switch bypasses the selector and activates the bridge pickup instantly for quick tone changes.

The bridge is a Sunken Floyd Rose Locking Tremolo, allowing for expressive vibrato while maintaining tuning stability. Left-hand vibrato offers a unique touch compared to the tremolo bar, expanding expressive potential.

Locking tuners are used for ease of string changes, reducing twist and improving tuning stability—especially useful with a locking nut.

This is an uncompromising high-end guitar in every aspect—offering stunning looks, world-class playability, and breathtaking tone. A lifetime companion for any serious guitarist.
