Taylor is one of the world's leading acoustic guitar giants along with Martin.
Taylor guitars have been used by Christopher Cross, Tony Iommi, John Petrucci, MIYAVI, and many other artists.
Taylor combines cutting-edge technology and craftsmanship to create innovative guitars and was the #1 selling acoustic guitar in the United States in 2014.
While most acoustic guitars have a set neck joint, Taylor guitars use a detachable design called the NT (New Technology) neck joint.
In addition, a wooden spacer called a shim is inserted between the body and neck, and the shim thickness can be changed to adjust the angle of the neck.
This makes it possible to lower the string height without shaving the bridge saddle.
Other than this, Taylor also incorporates a number of innovative ideas, such as UV finish, which allows for a durable, thin coating that does not age easily, and a unique pickup system that allows for the natural output of the guitar's original sound.
This model is the GS mini, a reduced body size of Taylor's signature shape, the Grand Symphony.
The GS mini is said to be the model that popularized the small-size guitar, and since its introduction in 2010, several hundred thousand units have been shipped worldwide, making it a very popular model.
It has an in-between size, smaller than a regular guitar but larger than a mini guitar.
This gives it a well-balanced design that is easy to handle but does not lose its authentic acoustic sound.
Also, the round-back construction of the GS Mini alleviates concerns about the lack of bass in small size guitars.
The GS-Mini-e adds a pickup system to the GS Mini, making it even more versatile.
Being an LTD, this model was produced to commemorate Taylor's 50th anniversary.
It features the same ES2 pickups as the higher-end model, gold hardware, fire-stripe pickguard, and diamond inlays on the fingerboard, all of which are appropriate for an anniversary model.
The body top is made of Sitka spruce veneer.
This is a standard wood used by famous brands such as Gibson and Martin for their standard models.
The side backs are rosewood, the neck is tropical mahogany, and the fingerboard is ebony.
The scale is 23.5 inches, and the neck shape is narrow for high playability that fits a variety of players.
The electronics are the Expression System2 (ES-2) found on Taylor's higher-end models.
Instead of placing the piezo element under the bridge saddle, the sensor is arranged from behind the bridge saddle, allowing the natural sound of the guitar to be output.
This is useful when connecting to an amplifier and playing at high volume.
It has a realistic sound that cannot be imagined from its small body.
Recommended for beginners, those looking for a second guitar, outdoor use, composition, stage, first acoustic guitar for electric players, and many more.
This is an anniversary model with a limited quantity.
