Sus bass is a Korean bass brand created by former professional musician Jin Su Lee.
His work, which touches the hearts of musicians, is popular mainly in Korea, and is used by Yeonjun Lee, known for his sessions with SUGA (BTS), TXT, and Yohan Kim, known for his sessions with ITZY. (Titles omitted)
The new order I made this time is an active 5-string JB style.
The body is made of alder and the fingerboard is made of rosewood, a classic wood composition.
The neck is made of roasted maple, which has a characteristic straight grain.
The hardware is HIPSHOT, which gives it a Western feel.
The pickups are custom models ordered from Lundgren in Sweden.
These pickups are used by bass brands such as Stenback, and are a fairly niche brand, but their excellent quality is highly praised by users.
The 3-band EQ preamp is his original, and instead of forcibly widening the Q to make it more flashy, it gives a relatively natural impression.
When using a JB type, it gives the impression of pinpoint control over the low and high ranges you want to bring out, and the mid-range you want to cut, so although it's not flashy, it brings out the acoustic qualities of the instrument well.
It was born from feedback from musicians who used it in recordings and on stage, so in that sense it feels very practical.
The PUs are custom made for Sus, and the preamp is original, so of course they are a great match.
The controls are neck PU volume, bridge PU volume, passive tone (preamp bypass with push-pull switch), middle, treble/bass.
The sound gives the impression of a somewhat modern 5-string JB.
The flow from the low B string to the G string is smooth, very well balanced, and feels easy to play.
The good balance of the sound, the smoothness, and the ease of playing across the entire fingerboard are its charms.
Personally, I feel the same way about the Alleva Coppolo.
It feels better balanced than the Fender and more tenacious than the Sadowsky.
In fact, in Korea, it seems to be evaluated as having a feeling somewhere between Alleva Coppolo and Sadowsky.
This is a wonderful, excellent instrument that reflects Jinsu's personality.
Please try it out at the store.
The GIB craftsmen will adjust it to make it easier to play before delivering it to you.
