Sago is a handmade guitar brand based in Hyogo, and they specialize in fully custom-made guitars that meet all of their customers' requests.
Their regular models (although most of them are one-offs) are also highly acclaimed, utilizing the knowledge and skills they have cultivated over the years.
Sago is also a brand that is highly trusted by musicians.
Tabuchi from Unison Square Garden, RIO from Mary's Blood, and Kusakari from Sakanaction are all Sago artists.
This model is a replica of the classic JB, custom-ordered from GIB.
The body is made of alder and the fingerboard is made of rosewood.
We specified a classic wood composition.
What is particularly noteworthy is the high-quality aging and the real vintage sound.
The staff who applied this aging were formerly employees of Fender, and were on the team of Carlos Lopez, a highly acclaimed master builder.
Carlos' team mainly worked on relic processing, and was highly acclaimed both inside and outside the company.
This model was made possible by having a builder with such a history.
We started by reviewing the paint, and thoroughly examined every detail to improve the quality, including how to create the paint film and the method and condition of the aging process, and we had them apply a high-quality aging process.
We used lacquer as the paint, and had them finish it as thin as possible.
After that, we applied intense aging processing to arrive at this realistic texture.
At the same time, the pickups are also customized just for this aged model.
Everything else is completely normal.
If I had to say, we specified HIPSHOT tuning machines.
As a result, I feel that this bass has achieved a high level of perfection as a vintage replica that is unparalleled.
It's treble-heavy, but has density in the lows, and although it feels light to play, the sound that comes out of the speakers is inversely proportional to the sound.
It's a truly wonderful piece.
We would like to let musicians all over the world know that basses like this can be made in Japan too.

As a side note, I have fond memories of Carlos, the boss of the craftsman who applied this aged finish at Fender.
We had a mutual acquaintance, and in 2019, he invited me to his home in California.
At the time, he wasn't a master builder yet, but he worked as a member of the Custom Shop and made some incredible guitars.
I feel a connection with Carlos, as his apprentice joined Sago.

For instruments purchased at our store, you can use the ""string vibration setup"" (normally 4,400 yen) free of charge forever. (Reservation required)

● Repurchase price guarantee

● Defect guarantee
Products sold by Basic Co., Ltd. are guaranteed against defects.
