Sadowsky is a high-end New York brand whose clientele includes top musicians such as Marcus Miller and Will Lee.
Until now, the Metroline was manufactured in Japan, but with Warwick taking over distribution of Sadowsky products, production has moved to the Warwick factory in Germany.
Since the Japanese-made Metroline models were originally highly acclaimed, there were concerns about a decline in quality, but seeing the actual product shows no need for excessive worry.
The neck feels a little thinner than the Japanese-made models, and there are also differences in the roundness of the body joint.
The previous Metroline guitars featured solid bodies.
However, like the NYC model, the new Metroline guitars feature a chambered body.
This makes them significantly lighter, weighing in at around 3kg, a clear advantage.
This model is a signature model of virtuoso Will Lee.
The custom preamp features a unique mid-boost switch.
This allows for a boost of 500Hz or 800Hz.
Each pickup has a selectable wide or narrow range and Q value.
Sadowsky's excellent electronics produce a powerful sound even with low string heights.
It's also very playable, making it a product with great overall potential.
The pickups are said to be different from both the old Metro Line and the NYC, but they produce a neat, beautifully designed sound.
There's no peaky feeling and they seem easy to use.
