Provision Guitar is a handmade brand based in Yamaguchi Prefecture that produces high-quality guitars.
Many professionals use the brand, including Takayoshi Negishi, Ken Taneda and Kazuya Kojima (back number).
We have been paying attention to the high quality of the Fender style basses in particular for some time.
I thought about asking for a traditional model, but this is a collaboration.
We wanted a bass with a more unique concept, so this model was completed.
Basically, it is based on the Fender style, but with Gibson style pickups and bridge.
The original structure is completely different, so naturally we were concerned that we wouldn't be able to just pop it on and be done with it.
In fact, it was not easy, but we were able to achieve a high level of balance.
The body is a crushed colour, but consists of mahogany back and maple top.
The neck is made of maple and the fingerboard is made of ebony.
The configuration is a mix of Gibson and Fender.
I've ordered it in several different specs, and sonically it's warmer than an alder body and more three-dimensional than a mahogany body.
It fits well whether you finger, slap or pick.
The sound is frankly beautiful, with a sufficient amount of low frequencies and three-dimensional overtones, and you'll find yourself playing it for a long time.
The pickups are the company's original new models.
The front and rear pickups are balanced beautifully, with a fat sound on their own and a high quality sound that is both persistent and crisp in the mix.
The playing feel is looser than on the Fender style.
The acoustic side of the guitar has a Gibson style to it, which is beautifully reflected in the sound.
I asked for the colour to be black, as you can see.
It has a slightly semi-glossy finish, which is a beautiful shade that is neither Gibson nor Fender.
The bridge, as you can see, has a Gibson style.
Tapered strings are standard due to the nature of the tailpiece. (Basically, use tapered strings for the four strings.)
The concept of a Gibson sound with Fender playing comfort is often seen, but there may not be many that are so well balanced and practical.
We would like to continue stocking them in the future.
The colouring and finish of these guitars are prone to scratches and scuffs from trial playing and other factors. If you want a shiny condition, we will prepare a new one for you so that you can take delivery without trial playing, etc. Please contact us].
