PJB is one of the many bass amp brands that feature a pure, unadorned sound.
Their high-quality products are trusted by many professionals and used on stage by top musicians such as Bobby Vega, Pino Palladino, Nathan East, and Tony Levin.
This model is an updated version of the hit NANOBASS X4.
It is now equipped with a USB Type C port and can be powered by a USB-PD standard mobile battery.
As you can see, this limited edition model is finished in tweed colors.
It is now very convenient for use in an outdoor environment as well as on a desk where the USB port is heavily used.
In terms of content, it is like a halved version of the already highly acclaimed Double Four, with a single 4-inch speaker.
It is noteworthy that Bluetooth communication is enabled, allowing sound sources to be sent from cell phones and other devices, and the sound source and the bass sound to be played simultaneously from the speaker.
Since bass amplifiers specialize in bass, they may not produce excellent results as speakers for general music playback.
However, this concern is unnecessary for this model.
At first listen, I was surprised by its high quality as a speaker for music reproduction.
As a side note, I really feel the clear and flat PJB characteristics.
The bass reproduction ability is also perfectly fine for home practice.
The volume is low for the 35W specs, and if you play low B or anything with a large gain at a high volume, it will distort.
However, considering the actual home practice environment, it goes without saying that loud volume is unnecessary.
Considering the size that can be placed on a desk, the high-quality sound, and the high usability of Bluetooth for easy use, the price of 32780 yen (including tax) is unbeatable.
There is great demand for home practice in the Corona disaster.
Monitoring with headphones has been popular until now, and that may not change in the future given the Japanese environment.
However, there is no doubt that it is even more valuable to be able to listen to the actual sound through an amplifier and hear the sound through the air at such a high quality.
IR and other simulators have been developed so that you can hear good sound even through headphones, but what you really want to do is to make the amp sound.
This amplifier makes that possible.
With its flat and beautiful acoustic characteristics, this is a gem that we recommend not only to bassists, but also to guitarists and other instrumentalists.
Please give it a try.
