Maurizio Über Basses is a Malaysian-based brand that produces high-class basses.
The builder, Maurizio Caduto, originally from Italy, is highly regarded especially in Europe for his beautifully crafted pieces with a unique sense of style.
The Miezo is a 4-string bass with a compact design, about half the size of a regular bass.
The scale is 18 inches, much shorter than the usual 34 inches.
Tuning is the same as from the 12th fret of a regular bass.
The ergonomic design is wonderfully balanced and feels partially similar to a full-size bass.
The body is made of Walnut.
Although not specified, the body back is decorated with Padauk.
I personally like this kind of playfulness of the builder, and I quietly look forward to it every time.
The neck is not jointed, which makes it very unique in terms of looks.
The fretboard is Padauk.
One pickup is made by Bartolini.
Hardware is ETS/M0b, and frets are Jescar's Evolution series.
It is unified in gold.
Paint is lacquer with satin finish.
The sound unique to short basses containing beautiful overtones is very attractive.
This bass offers more pure value, especially for those who like chord work on the bass and those who are attracted to the sound of the higher registers.
