Limetone Audio is an effects pedal brand that has released many excellent products and is trusted by top professionals.

They have released many great effect pedals, but the distortion pedal "JACKAL" is one of the most highly regarded as a masterpiece.

In a video with Mr. Imanishi of Limetone Audio that we had posted on our Youtube channel, we discovered that the JACLAL can also be used with a bass for a great sound.

This model is the bass version of JACLAL, "JACKAL MIDNIGHT".

In conclusion, we recommend this model to those who are looking for a thick drive sound like Billy Sheen's. The sound is similar to that of a sans amp or dark amp.

The sound is different from that of sans amps or darkgrass, and rather than cutting the middle to create a sharp and loud sound, it is thicker with a stronger sense of push.

Even when the GAIN is set high, the sound image is less bloated, and a juicier, finer distortion is obtained.

This nuance is similar to that of the RAT and Russian Muff, which bassists love.

The EQ design is particularly unique.

It is a 3-band EQ for bass, middle, and treble, but I feel that bass and treble are closer to the middle than typical bass preamp-like ones.

Therefore, I feel that the sound is pushed quite explicitly when the bass is turned up.

When the bass is turned up, the low mid becomes more powerful, and when the treble is turned up, the band where the attack of the strings is felt the most becomes stronger.

In general, I have the impression that the effect covers a wider range, so I think this is a matter of taste.

However, we want to make the premise that this pedal is designed to be used with a drive pedal.

When distorted, it will inevitably become thinner and the high frequencies will feel less clear.

For example, when you pick with a pick or pull with a slap on a bass guitar, you may lose the sense of attack.

I feel that this EQ is very well designed to compensate for these situations and to push the sound further.

The middle switch, when cut, gives a clearer and crisper impression, and when boosted, it gives a massive nuance that increases the density of the sound, unlike the obtrusive parts that bassists tend to cut.

There is a switch called "bright," which adds a slight sparkling presence component when turned on.

This is also not a very flashy setting, so you get the feeling that this is a drive pedal focused on mid-range sound production.

When the "preamp mode" switch is turned on, the gain drops dramatically.

This gives it more of a low-gain drive pedal nuance, and for those who like unique EQ, it is easy to use as a "always on" pedal.

I think another big attraction of this mode is that it provides a very pleasant compression feel.

For this reason, I personally recommend turning on the preamp mode and using it like a slightly distorted compressor.

The technique of creating a drive sound with the compressor setting is strongly supported by some musicians. The great appeal of this product is that even when used in such a way, an excellent sound can be obtained.

Overall, I felt that this is a gem of a product that was meticulously crafted and is typical of Limetone Audio.

Surprisingly, there have been no drive pedals like this until now, so I highly recommend that you give it a try.
